YAY, New GoodGBA and GoodNES

Finally!

I got rid of that f*cking DropBox POS.  I'm using copy.com for now.  Seems to work the same for end users and I don't have to install an app like with DropBox just to get files synced from one PC to the cloud.

If you want to help me with some more storage space, use this to login to copy.com :

If I get enough space, I'm seriously considering backing up all my scans that I have not had time to pretty up. People can then help me with them, and I can look at them while on the road looking for undumped carts. The scans are much too large for even a 64GB SD card on my tablet :(

Now to the news most people care about!

New GoodGBA and GoodNES.  These are the two that most people ask about (GoodSNES being almost a tie)
GBA and NES also have the largest number of hacks coming out of China right now, and I want to test the new UTF-8 ability.  Let me know if you encounter anything 'strange' while renaming or scanning.

Oh, and RAR support is gone for now.

Here is the link for the complete set of GoodTools.  For now I'm going to just keep one file with everything in it. It is only 15meg and everyone will have latest files.  If no bugs are found in these two tools, I'll release loads more right after New Years Day.

Have fun

Da Link :  GoodTools Suite Dec 29, 2013 Version (updated version available)

Wow.. thanks a lot!

Nice move.. some asswipe is constantly downloading the suite of tools. Now I'm over my dropbox limit (which should NEVER happen normally).  So much for a pre-New Years release.

I'll upload the suite somewhere else if someone provides a good service. I don't like Box, nor anything with anonymous links since I can't track the number of downloads.

To RAR or not to RAR?

Well, here it is another six months later and I still have no release.  Besides being very busy, I can't get unrar5 to work with unicode/utf8 properly.

Do you guys even give a crap about RAR?   If I could decode all the C++ wrappers in 7zip to just add its unrar to the existing LZMA stuff, I'd try that, but I'm quite bad at following that code for some reason and have never figured it out :(

Out of the blue...

...I make a post!   Real life has been at 0% idle level lately, but I'm still working on GoodTools and other stuff.  I would release a new version, but there is still a nagging bug in RAR file handling that causes a BSOD and no one likes those.  If I had code to create RAR files i could figure out why my code can't decode some of them, but alas it is closed source.  Still I forge ahead.

I did get time to work on Tandy 1000 emulation in MESS last week.  It is not as well done as I'd like as many of the chips and BIOS ROMs are not dumped 100% correctly.  If you've still got a Tandy 1000 from mid 80s-mid 90s lying around, email me and we can try and get em all dumped properly. Models include things like the HX RX TX SX SL RL, etc etc.. Tandy made lots of variations.

Be back soon!

Been a while...

Wow.. real life has taken a while to catch up on :(  I've been fighting bugs in RAR and 7z for a while as I convert the GoodTools to Unicode, but I'm almost done.

I've also got a line on a batch of Jap Pico carts, but I've not kept up with Team-Europe in a while and don't want to waste money buying dupes. If someone has a nice single link or site for their scans and dumps, just shoot me a comment.

Finally, I've been trying to help out a school system with some ancient junk. If anyone has driver disks for fiber optic cards made by 'Raylan' from about 1991 for the PC or the MAC, please let me know where to get the image.  Raylan was bought out by AMP in 1993 and completely disappeared. Most valuable part of the company was their domain name rl.com LOL!

More soon (promise!)
